About the workshop:
Make a mini-comic of your favorite recipe with COOK LIKE YOUR ANCESTORS author Mariah-Rose Marie! Participants will be shown how to draw juicy dishes, cook up accessible and easy-to-follow recipes, and preserve the stories that made them. Learn about what goes into making a cookbook, and leave with the beginnings of your own fun sized version in the form of a zine or minicomic to be easily shared with friends, family, or for your own archives.

This is a 2-hour online workshop on Sunday, November 10th from 11am-1pm PST (1pm-3pm EST). The workshop is capped at 25 participants. Everyone who signs up will receive a Zoom link via email and then a recording of the workshop afterwards.
What you need:
• Drawing supplies. You can draw on paper or digitally, whatever you prefer. You’re welcome to use whatever materials you have on hand, whether it’s colored pencils, watercolors, or ink pens.
About the teacher:
Mariah-Rose Marie is the author and illustrator of COOK LIKE YOUR ANCESTORS, an international recipe collection and guide to intuitive cooking. Their storyboard work can be found anywhere from FX, Netflix and HBO Max, and comic works in publications such as The New Yorker, EATER, Science for the People Magazine, with Ignatz award-winning contributions to The Nib. She’s deeply passionate about ethology, the ocean, and Indigenous foodways.
