HX aka Henna Räsänen is a Finnish, Berlin-based non-binary and queer comic artist whose work explores social norms and the looming climate catastrophe through offbeat, prickly humor. Their comics depict subcultures and queer communities in a rapidly eroding world, while addressing contemporary political climates with both tactics and optimism.
HX has published numerous art zines, prints and books and exhibited in spaces like Athens Museum of Queer Arts, Fumetto Festival and Helsinki Comic Festival. They’ve been a member of multiple collectives and art groups such as Altes Finanzamt (2016-2020) and Comic Invasion Berlin Festival (2020-2024) in many different roles, from curating the International Focus to organizing film screenings. As a part of their practice they teach comic workshops that center on norm critical practices, the character of (urban) spaces and the attempt of finding hope in the middle of the current climate catastrophe.
