Emma Akins is a painter, illustrator and comic artist located in Chicago, Illinois. Her work stems from her personal everyday existential confusion, awkward experiences, confessions, and the holy mess of her unfunctional life. Themes she often explores are alcoholism and her relationship with a higher power, and what it’s like to live a bipolar life. Emma has exhibited at numerous zine fairs and has a comic exhibited in the Institute of Contemporary Art Baltimore’s, Up like the a Sun Down like a Pancake gallery show.
