A series of creative prompts and practices help get rid of the brain fog of writer’s block.
About the workshop:
Have you ever finally had a moment of blissful free time for all those ideas that have been bursting out of the seams… only to stall up the minute you face the blank page? Animator and comic artist Ami Bogin will share a series of creative prompts and practical techniques to blow away the brain fog, provide a safe space for your inner muses, and help you develop a daily practice that works for you.
Date:
This is a two-part online workshop in the Central European Timezone. The first 2-hour online session will take place Saturday, August 10th from 2pm-4pm CET. Then participants will have a week to practice daily drawing prompts before reuniting for one hour on Saturday August 17th from 2pm-3pm CET. This workshop is capped at 25 participants. Everyone who signs up will receive a Zoom link via email and then a recording of the workshop afterwards.
What you need:
• Bring writing and drawing materials. We’ll be doing some freewriting and then drawing short comics. You can work with any tools you enjoy, like watercolor, digital drawing, or colored pencils.
About the teacher:
Ami Bogin is a Kalmyk-American artist based in Berlin exploring shared humanity, stories passed on in oral tradition, and the connective tissue between communities who have been colonised and exiled. When she’s not making comics or animation, she can be found tending her plants, climbing poles, and going on long walks.
